ABOUT IN THE CREASE

Goalie development is what we do.

In The Crease Goaltending is a Rocky Mountain-based coaching group built specifically around the development of goaltenders. Ask a Goalie Coach extends that same instruction beyond the rink through personalized video review.

WHO WE ARE

A coaching program built around the position.

ITC was created to provide superior goalie instruction and mentoring while staying current with the way the position and the game continue to evolve.

Our work extends well beyond one type of training. ITC provides instructional camps, specialty clinics, team consulting, private instruction and game/video review. That breadth matters when reviewing video because a single save or goal against is rarely just one technical issue — it can involve skating, positioning, reads, habits, decision-making and compete.

POSITION-SPECIFICEvery review is evaluated from a goaltender’s perspective — not generic hockey commentary.
DEVELOPMENT-FOCUSEDWe identify priorities a goalie can actually train, not just mistakes to avoid.
CURRENT & PRACTICALOur coaching is built around current goaltending concepts, game situations and repeatable habits.
OUR COACHING STAFF

Quality feedback can come from more than one ITC coach.

Ask a Goalie Coach is built around the overall In The Crease coaching standard, not a single individual. Reviews may be completed by qualified ITC coaches who evaluate the position with the same goalie-first philosophy.

Consistent standardsEvery review focuses on technique, reads, habits and development priorities.
Experienced perspectiveITC coaches bring years of work through camps, private instruction and team development.
Actionable takeawaysFamilies and goalies receive clear feedback they can use right away.
WHAT WE LOOK AT

More than whether the puck went in.

SKATINGFootwork, recoveries, lateral movement and efficiency.
TRACKINGEyes, head, puck connection and movement into saves.
REBOUND CONTROLSave selection, puck placement and second-chance management.
POST PLAYEntries, exits, seals, positioning and net-front reads.
COMPETEBattle, recovery effort, patience and response under pressure.
WHY VIDEO REVIEW?

See the game differently.

Video gives a coach the ability to slow down moments that happen in fractions of a second and connect the result to the movement, read or decision that came before it.

The goal is not to create one “perfect” style. The goal is to give the goalie clear information about what is working, what needs attention and what they can do next to improve.
